Proxy servers hide your IP address
while browsing.
A computer's Internet Protocol
address is used for basic
communication on the Internet.
Whenever a browser is used to
retrieve information from a website,
it communicates the computer's IP
address to the website's server.
Server logs are a trail of the
computer's Internet history. Also,
while rare, hackers can use a
computer's IP address as a launching
point for a series of malicious
attacks. Anonymous proxy servers
exist to hide your IP address while
you browse the Internet. There are
many free or paid Web-based proxy
servers on the Internet.

Instructions
Web-based Proxies
1. Open the computer's Web
browser. Travel to a Web-based
proxy such as Anonymouse,
AnonaSurf, or Proxify.
2. Type the address of the website
you wish to visit anonymously in
the address bar provided by the
proxy website. The website will
appear in the browser window.
Travel the site as normal.
3. Type another website in the
address bar supplied by the proxy
server to travel to another site
anonymously. If the proxy does
not supply an address bar at the
top of the visited Web page, use
the browser's main address bar to
return to the proxy's website and
repeat step 2 to continue hiding
the computer's IP address while
browsing.
4. Type another website's URL into
the browser's main address bar to
leave the proxy website and
return to normal Internet
browsing.
Tips & Warnings
Many Web-based proxies have
both free basic service and paid
advanced services. Only use paid
proxy services if the free versions
are not robust enough for your
needs.
Many proxy servers log the
computer's IP address.
Do not enter personal or sensitive
information on a website unless
you are confident in its security
protocols.
